in the fade

  1. Barcelona, I love you but your beer brings me down.
Yes, this is a blanket condemnation of all the beer in Barcelona.
This is basically the only beer in town. Oh, sure, sometimes there’s San Miguel. Once in a while if you’re lucky you will find an Irish pub and get yourself a Guinness or hard cider. But for the most part when you ask for a beer, this is what you get. It tastes like a thinner Miller Lite. Imagine that.
Last night I dreamed about trying to buy a bottle of Dead Guy Rogue Ale and everyone kept handing me cans of Estrella Damm. It was a nightmare.
We are making a pit stop at the beer store before we get home because I need a real beer. A Dead Guy. A Lagunitas. A Stone Ruination (and then I’ll pass out). I know there’s at least one bottle of a Shock Top IPA in my house somewhere and I’ll take that.
I don’t know how people drink this stuff every day.
Then again, people drink Natural Ice on purpose.
Weirdos.
